Early Learning Academy

We believe that children are created with unique potential, and our approach fosters their holistic development—spiritual, intellectual, emotional, social, and physical. We encourage curiosity and creativity through music, movement, and creative play, while also promoting language development, social skills, and early literacy, including reading, writing, and communication. Our curriculum focuses on building self-help skills, problem-solving, and fine and gross motor development, which lay a strong foundation for kindergarten readiness.

Biblical lessons, developmentally appropriate teaching, and Christian values such as love, respect, and kindness are woven into daily activities, guiding children toward spiritual growth and a deeper love for God. In an environment that supports exploration and discovery, we prioritize social-emotional development and foster independence. Our educators partner with families to provide a safe, nurturing, Christ-centered space that encourages strong character, faith, and a meaningful relationship with Jesus. 

Our Early Learning Academy complies with the child-to-staff ratios established by the Department of Human Resources to ensure a safe and supportive learning environment. 

We enjoy providing high quality opportunities for students to explore, move, and discover during learning time. Screen time will be limited throughout the day and reserved for lessons, virtual field trips, and other interactive activities to assist with learning.  

Our teachers must undergo a criminal background check and fingerprinting through the Alabama Bureau of Investigation (ABI) and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). 

K2 & K3 teachers must hold a minimum of an Associates Degree and/or CDA credential. 

K4 teachers must hold a minimum of a bachelor's degree in early childhood education or elementary education and an Alabama Teacher Certification.

We value parent participation. Little Royals need time to adjust to their new learning environment and schedule. Parents will have an opportunity to participate in onsite and off-site field-trips, story time, lunch/recess assistance, special activities, chapel services, community and career days, teacher and staff appreciation day, and many other opportunities after the first few weeks of school.

Safety and security are paramount at Kingdom Heights. Our robust security system includes:

• Full-time armed security team to include an armed School Security Officer (SSO)

• Secure campus access, cameras, and currently pricing detectors  

• State of the art security system with the ability to deploy resources to the exact location in the building 

• Magnetic locked doors 

• Emergency protocols: Bag-free entry for visitors  

• Protective spaces for the Early Learning Academy and each Academy ensuring students learn and grow in a safe, developmentally appropriate environment.

We explain to our Little Royals that safety drills (fire, tornado, lockdown, etc.) are safety practices to help everyone know what to do in an emergency. When the alarm sounds, they walk calmly with their teacher to a safe place. We reassure them that the loud sound is simply part of the practice. The goal is to make the drill a familiar part of their routine, helping them feel comfortable and prepared. Afterward, they return to their activities, understanding it’s a procedure to keep everyone safe. 

Families must provide snacks and lunches. We are a nut free zone.  

We encourage positive behavior by teaching Bible lessons focused on Christ-like values, such as love, kindness, and respect. We model these behaviors and praise children when they demonstrate them, reinforcing the importance of treating others with care. 

Respecting Others: 

• Saying "please" and "thank you." 

• Taking turns and using gentle hands. 

Problem-Solving: 

• Asking for help when needed. 

• Offering solutions, like sharing. 

Emotional Regulation: 

• Taking a deep breath when upset. 

• Using words to express feelings, like "I’m mad" or "I feel sad." 

Kindness and Empathy: 

• Comforting a friend who is upset. 

• Helping others clean up or share toys. 

Responsibility: 

• Putting away toys. 

• Cleaning up spills and bringing dishes to the sink. 

These simple actions help our Little Royals practice positive behavior and develop social, emotional, and cognitive skills.
